Courses
Proficiency-based instruction at the elementary level that develops the four language skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing). In addition to mastering basic vocabulary and grammar, students will communicate in Ukrainian about everyday topics.
Continuation of the proficiency-based instruction started in UKRN 401. Course emphasizes speaking, listening, reading, writing in a cultural context. Students enhance their basic vocabulary and grammar and will regularly communicate in the target language about everyday topics.
This course is the third in a sequence designed to develop advanced Ukrainian language skills. Building on previous semesters, where students mastered objects and verbs. So, this term focuses on the art of connecting phrases and sentences. Through the lens of Ukrainian history from the 1890s to the 1920s, especially the period of the Ukrainian National Republic (1917-1919), students will explore syntactical structures and stylistic registers in an immersive, communicative, and interactive game environment.
